Summary: Not only didn’t I meet a good end, I also still had to watch this kind of show.
Like Love But Not ch01
A melodramatic scum abuse story that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. Snowy Codex has already translated the free version of this, while this is a translation of the book version, which the author re-upped on Jinjiang back in April 2020. (Note: The original was written all the way back in 2008.)
The first 24 of these chapters (labeled “Xiao Heng”) roughly corresponds to the first 10 chapters of the already translated free version, with some added scenes. After that, this version branches off into its own thing. For maximum knives, I’d recommend not reading the free version beyond that, if this story is new to you. Otherwise, there’s enough new content in this that I’d still recommend reading even if you’ve read the original (as long as you liked it well enough).
Finally, a general content warning for the entire work is that there are discussions of suicide, suicide ideation, etc.
The general premise is that the MC is a spirit haunting his ex-boyfriend after his attempted suicide, and while I personally think author Orange Rain handled this subject matter mostly decently, do be aware that this is a dogblood melodrama first and foremost and so there will be bits of this that aren’t handled super well. You know yourself best, so if you know this kind of content will trigger you, please do take care of yourself and don’t read it! (And a kind reminder that crisis hotlines are available in most countries — many of which 24/7 — so please take advantage of them if you need to!)
As always, I will be tagging individual content warnings as they occur on a chapter-by-chapter basis in these headers as a [details] cut, but do let me know if you need additional warnings that I may have missed.
EPUB/PDF added for Record of the Missing Sect Master
So I’ve decided to just up the EPUB and PDF for Record of the Missing Sect Master despite having not finished editing. Apparently, 120 chapters is, uh, quite a lot, and going back to TLC everything is taking some time. (I’ve also been really lazy lately and haven’t been doing much of anything outside of work and video games…) So instead of keeping everyone waiting until who-knows-when, I decided to just upload a “v0” for now.
The epub in particular is a fairly quick-and-dirty affair, converted from the docx via calibre. I’ve tested it on both calibre and lithium (for android), so it should work fine. (Though the Table of Contents page is… funky, sorry about that. I’ll try fixing it for the proper release.) I wouldn’t recommend super barebones readers like SumatraPDF for it, since those read the <p> CSS in epubs as single line-breaks instead of double, so all the paragraphs are squished together. It should work in other readers though.
The PDF doesn’t include a cover since I thought it looked kind of weird. I might add it in for the v1, but I’ll need to think on it more.
If you have any issues downloading/reading either of these files, please let me know, and I’ll do my best to help.
As for actual corrections, it’s embarrassing to admit, but I actually noticed quite a few straight-up TL errors, especially in the earlier chapters. I’ve mirrored those changes on the wordpress site as well, but for simple sentence rewording and such, I’ve been too lazy to do so, so there will be some (minor) differences between the web version and the downloaded version. Mostly clarity and fluid English-type things.
If you notice any errors within the text itself, whether it be actual TL errors or simply awkward sentences, please let me know. I know there’s probably still a lot of them around, since I haven’t really edited all that much… And knowing where I should focus my energy is always helpful.
Thanks, and I hope you enjoy this half-assed v0!
EDIT: Download links updated to v0.2 on series page, bringing with it minor editing fixes (still no full TLC yet sorry), an additional character appendix, slightly more streamlined footnotes, etc.

And of course, it wouldn’t be the end without my having to fix yet another embarrassing error — in chapter 31, when Ye You is speculating with that mysterious figure from the window (whose identity we now know lmao) about Blood-sucking Ghost’s motives for following the white piece, Ye You proposes that Blood-sucking Ghost might have someone he wants to protect. I originally translated this someone as “disciple”, but as shown by this chapter, “child” is a better fit! This has been fixed.
