Some minor dubious consent since Qin Zhiyuan has sex with Gu Yan while the latter is still suffering from the effects of the drugs, though Gu Yan seems somewhat lucid enough to know/want it from Qin Zhiyuan.

Also, some brief mentions of Gu Yan having been drugged in the past afterwards, but it’s blink and you’ll miss it.

So, yeah, a very quick, mostly nonexplicit sex scene in the beginning of this chapter.

Flower Vase v01c05

Content warning (major):

Forced drugging, followed by a sexual assault. Also (minor) references to past instances of drugging/sexual assault.

If you want more specifics re: that content warning above…

Gu Yan is drugged, and a dildo is inserted, but things get stopped before they progress beyond this point. The assault is also written from Gu Yan’s perspective, who is as high as a kite, and so isn’t super aware of what’s going on after a certain point.

If you want to skip some sections…

The drugging is a bit hard to skip, honestly, since Gu Yan gets drugged about a third of the way through this chapter, and then he and his assailant banter for like… another third of the chapter before the assault even happens. If you do want to skip it, though, start right after the line, “This kind of strange feeling felt very familiar, just like, just like…” and skip/skim through the first few paragraphs of the next chapter as well.

If you want to skip the assault, start after the line, “[I]t felt as if his entire body had been dropped into a strange and grotesque fantasy,” and then you can pick it up again where it says, “Right at that moment, he heard the sound of the door being kicked open.”

Flower Vase v01c01

So here it is! The super secret work that I’ve been stockpile translating! Huzzah!

Content warning for the entire work: There are some dark bits (mainly to do with Gu Yan’s past, mentioned obliquely) as well as one sexual assault scene (not between the main characters), and I’ll warn for these when we get there.

I’ll also be translating from the uncensored Myrics version of the text, so there will be some sex scenes. Mostly not super explicit, and none of them are actually labeled R-18, but they are there! And won’t be entirely fade to black either.

Speaking of which, a sex scene is in this very first chapter in fact. :T

Oh, also, for the record, this version has the chapters organized differently than Jinjiang’s. I’m going with the internal chapter numbering (which I assume corresponds to the published text chaptering) rather than the external Myrics chapter numbering. So this translation will have 20 chapters total, ten for each volume, along with some extras. The Jinjiang text, which I assume is what most people are familiar with, is censored and hence shorter than this one, even though it appears to have more chapters. Just something to keep in mind!

How to Use: Myrics (Registration & Top-Up)

So I’m translating my next super secret project from the uncensored Myrics text, and while I think there is a guide already out there, I think they block certain IPs (like Taiwan so I can’t access it right now lmao), so here’s my own, to encourage people to support the author.

Myrics is an uncensored Chinese-language webnovel platform. I’ve heard folks say they’re a Taiwanese company, but their headquarters is listed in South Korea…? Either way, while it’s a relatively newer site (at least compared to the likes of Jinjiang or Chang Pei), and it doesn’t yet have a mobile app from what I can tell, it has a fairly easy to navigate interface, a nice reader, and no surprise chapter locks from governmental authorities.

In general, I think it’s fairly easy to use, even with minimal knowledge of Chinese, especially in comparison to all those Mainland Chinese websites.

EPUB/PDF up for Like Love But Not

I’ve upped links to the epub/pdf downloads for Like Love But Not to both the table of contents and the carrd.

Much like with my previous translation effort, I got a bit half-assed with editing near the end and just decided to upload it regardless LOL.

I did figure out how to do vertical text in Word, though!! So now you can have the Chinese title going vertically and the English title going horizontally, at least in the PDFs, haha.

I also put a bit more effort and actually did some barebones editing in Sigil after converting the Word doc in Calibre, so hopefully the EPUB looks less janky. I’ve also edited the Record of the Missing Sect Master EPUBs too, for this same reason.

I’m seriously considering reverting back to Times New Roman as the main font for future edits though, since em-dashes look meh in Georgia. And, yes, I know there aren’t supposed to be spaces before and after em-dashes, but Georgia makes them look wayyy too much like hyphens for that to look good, so I left them in. If I ever switch to TNR, I’ll fix that. (Though at this point, I’m also aware that I’m probably the only one who cares…)

Anyway, as always, if you notice any errors, whether they be outright translation mistakes or just editing snafus, let me know.
